Albion online explain and help you determine

The MMO market has changed to reflect their aging demographic while trying to pull in a younger crowd. Now any of us who have started long ago feel like the magic is gone, because the need to socialize has decreased significantly in our MMORPGs.
For the crowd who likes things quick and easy, who likes to treat their MMORPGs like single player games with the ability to socialize with their friends and meet others. Themeparks are perfect for you.

Albion online explain and help you determine

Albion Online is not a themepark, similar to Eve. The way you socialize and who you socialize with is more important than what you actually do in the game.
Now if you don't have experience with that type of play I know it can seem like a very awkward idea. What is the point of playing a game, if WHO you are is more important very fulfilling.
I bought Albion Online, because its gameplay while not overlly complex yet looks promising to me. As a working adult I can play at home, or I can play around on my tablet during lunch/work and socialize with the people I care about, and the actual issues that need to be addressed in our virtual fantasy.
The Short Version:
In sandboxes WHO you are is more important than WHAT you do. This is reflected in the PEOPLE you CHOOSE to TALK to. Albion Online is a very approachable medium to socialize and play with, while offering fantasy issues you are VESTED in.
This is the reason behind why I founded Albion Online, and reading this article may help you decide for yourself.
I have played MMOs for a long time, since EQ UO you name i've played it. This includes Darkfall and Eve, hell even Tibia for a few years.
than WHAT you do?
Learning something about yourself, or growing as a person, learning new things. These are very fulfilling traits, and these are the traits that open ended games like this really aim for. You could say that playing a game itself can teach you things, but you are more likely to retain/learn by socializing with others. You will also feel much more included and accomplished.
Think really hard about the last 5 MMOs you have likely played in the last two years. Didn't stay around long did you? Got bored of the end game content? Kind of hard to establish MEANINGFUL relationships with people, when there is a direct objective in a game. For example, killing the most bad ass raid boss, you can consider that the last boss for that patch.
Sandboxes are different, your enemy is whoever you make it. Your objective is for you to decide. While it is harder for some to make their own path, those who can break the current mold and realize the freedom they have will find this type of game
As I matured from a young teen with all the time in the world on my hands to an adult with ambition and a family to support, I've noticed my ability to really delve deep into a game has vanished.

Windows
Error downloading update!:
Make sure you got the latest client installed, if you did not download it today then you probably got an old one. testing.albiononline.com/clients/albion-online-setup.exe
And then start the game directly from the "game" folder inside of the Albion Online folder. This way you skip the launcher (Which is not recommended, but if the launcher is not working this is a workaround)

Albion Online Summer Alpha event Info

owever, all good things must come to an end, and Sandbox Interactive’s devs are itching to get back to building in all the cool new features and make the game ready for our winter alpha!
To soften the blow we want everyone to come along to a a little event we’ll be putting on just to say a big thanks for your support, challenge your combat skills one last time, and end the test on a high note!
So we’d like to share with you a little something Bercilak got in the post a few days ago…
EndTestEventPingFinal
Head over to the (currently locked) entrance to Bearsfast on Monday the 13th at 17:00 CEST
We (and the citizens of Bearsfast!) would love it if as many players as possible could join in Albion Online. Testers who want to stream the action are also very welcome!
A massive thanks to everyone who has participated in testing so far – updates on a development roadmap for the next test will be out within two weeks of the end of the test!
Albion Online Summer Alpha event Info
CRISIS IN BEARSFAST!
Citizens of Bearsfast, west of Lost Shore, have recently reported a major crisis, with a monster infestation which has left hundreds of people displaced from their homes, too frightened to return to gather their equipment and take up arms against the monsters themselves. The once-majestic castle as been overrun, and the area has had to be deserted.
Having kept their homeland quarantined for months, the citizens have sent out a plea to the heroes of Albion to muster the last of the strength for one last battle, to overcome evil and save the region – and indeed, perhaps, the world – from certain destruction.
Two brave warriors, Beelzebabb and Empa, have boldly volunteered themselves to lead the company to the very heart of Bearsfast and destroy this evil once and for all. Will you join them?
If you are bold enough, come to Lost Shore on the 13th of October at 17:00 CEST. Bring your best gear, all the strength of your heart, and maybe a spare pair of underpants.

ALBION ONLINE SUMMER ALPHA ROUND-UP

Albion Online’s summer alpha test came to a close on Monday the 13th of October, after almost a month of gathering, territory claiming, bug reports and hundreds of thousands of bunny rabbit deaths.
The team is already hard at work developing new features into the game ready for the next test (see our two new Facebook updates here), but we wanted to take the time to look back on what has been a truly amazing and successful Summer Alpha, with a great end event!

RANKINGS
The end of test event really shook up the rankings, with decked-out developers earning their killers more than their weight in fame, but a player who spent the majority of their time at the very top of the fame leader boards was Wirindi of Albion Online veterans Vendetta, who also came out on top across the board, and were one of the largest and best organised guilds in this test.
Top Guild Kill Value was distributed between Hammer and Sickle (1st place), Vendetta (2nd place), and Scoia’Tael (3rd place), with the same guilds taking the top 3 positions in guild fame, though this time Vendetta were top and Hammer and Sickle 2nd. To see why these guilds were at the top, just check out the videos below!
A special shout-out to Vikings, a guild originally for live streamers which eventually blossomed into a great guild of its own, and part of the Victrix Mortalis Alliance alongside Vendetta and Kill on Sight.

THE MIDLANDS OF ALBION, 28TH OF SEPTEMBER

A community-led event this week saw players truly going back to their roots by returning to Tier 1 gear – the most basic set acquirable in Albion Online!

Weary from intense, strategic fighting and the pain of a hundred high-tier AoE spell animations burning into their corneas, Albion’s most respected vets threw aside their powerful armor and weapons – some of them days in the making – and stored them away in their now palatial player houses.
BCqWGPb
These battle-hardened warriors yearned for the simpler days of old. So long ago was it that these thin garbs were last worn, that one player had to call ahead to his parents’ house and get his dad to put his shirt through the wash because it was a bit musty and had weird stains on the underarms. But soon the uniforms of battle were prepared!
From Stormcaller of Vendetta, with accompanying blog
They came brandishing their primitive toy-like shields, guild emblems drawn clumsily on the wood, ostensibly by toddlers with marker pens. Their blunt swords that start to wobble a bit if you swing them around too much. Their outgrown leather armor with the aforementioned embarrassing stains.
Having grouped up, they headed out in a veritable tsunami of scantily-clad noobs – their destination: Dragonrock, the agreed site of the battle. With low-tier spells restricted to some heals and a burning DoT AoE, many in the group spent a large part of the journey on fire.
ss+(2014-09-30+at+06.40.47)
They tore through the center of Albion, zerging any poor player who happened to be wandering in their path. After a parade of what can only be described as public indecency, the company arrived at Dragonrock, the proposed site of their weird pointless battle.
